What You'll Be Doing

As a Part-time Yard Specialist, you’ll play a key role in supporting our sales, service, and parts departments by maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, tackling a variety of tasks, and contributing to a team that values safety, precision, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the overall appearance and organization of the yard.

  • Perform maintenance and cleaning of the shop and service areas.

  • Assist with equipment inventory, organization, and transfers.

  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring all packing slips are accounted for and inspecting for damage.

  • Wash and detail incoming and outgoing equipment.

  • Follow all safety procedures and complete work in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications

What's Required

 

Skills / Experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate and maintain various types of equipment on the lot.

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks safely.

  • Skilled in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment while following safety compliance standards.

  • Reliable, efficient, and able to perform as both an independent worker and a team player.

  • Self-motivated with high energy, professionalism, and a positive attitude.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support coordination across departments.

  • Able to work flexible hours, including occasional Saturdays, as needed.

  • Basic computer skills for tracking inventory, completing documentation, and communication.

  • Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working with agricultural, turf, or construction equipment preferred.

Compensation is competitive and based on skill level, experience, and knowledge.

 

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach while performing repairs and maintenance.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and parts up to 50–75 lbs., and occasionally heavier with assistance.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle tools, operate machinery, and perform detailed mechanical work.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to read schematics, manuals, and computer screens.
  • Hearing ability sufficient to communicate with coworkers and customers in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including outdoor conditions, confined spaces, and elevated areas.
  • Must be able to safely operate company vehicles, forklifts, and other equipment.
